I am a professional model and a fashion activist.

About my modelling

I am a classic model i.e older or 'mature'. I am with Grey Model Agency in London but also work independently, it depends on the job. I am quite versatile, my look allows me to be so. I love doing work that is dynamic, multi-layered and multi-referenced and that gives me sufficient scope to perform as a model. I have a dance background and performed in my twenties, later becoming involved in other dance and performance related activities. I will do TF only with the right photographer, I am however happy to work with beginners on a fee paying basis.

I write a blog, THE REAL DOES NOT EFFACE ITSELF alex-therealdoesnoteffaceitsel… where I comment on anything that takes my fancy. I still write it even though blogging has almost been phased out.

I have a flexible, toned body, thanks to years of movement, yoga practice and some martial art training, so I can hold complex poses. I have also been a life model. I am an Equity card holder, not that it matters much, but it makes me a recognisable 'performing artist'.

I live in London but am happy to travel for the right shoot. I love modelling, I came to it relatively late in life and took to it like a duck to water. I believe I can bring to a shoot great poise, elegance, confidence, maturity, sensuality, intelligence, imagination and a highly developed aesthetic sense, acquired through years of being involved one way or another with the creative arts. Happy to do a fashion shoot but I would require a MUA and access to clothing, fashion shoots with a model's own clothes never really work, unless the model has a huge and up to date wardrobe - that's not me!
